About this experience

Enjoy a personalised journey back in time with one of our experienced tour guides. Whether you have a passion for heritage crafts, architecture or industry, your tour guide will tailor your tour to ensure you get the most out of your visit to the Village. Afterwards, stop by McDaniel's Tea Room and Restaurant to enjoy a refreshment or Village Treasures and Gift Shop for a souvenir of your visit.

To make the most of this experience, we suggest planning ahead. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

  Please arrive 5-10 minutes before your tour start time to check-in at the Visitor Reception Centre

  
  


• 
  

  Wear good walking shoes, there's a lot of ground to cover!

  
  


• 
  

  Tours will take place rain or shine. Umbrellas can be provided.

  
  


• 
  

  Visitors are encouraged to bring a water bottle. There are places to fill up along the way.

  
  

Reseveration must be made a least 24 hours in advance. 

Cancellation Policy:  Cancellation made less than 24 hours prior are non-refundable. Participants will be notified 48 hours in advance if tour is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. 

For non-private tours, tour guides will wait no more than 5 minutes before starting the tour. If you arrive late, one of our staff can take you to join the group. There is no guarantee any missed information would be covered at the end of the tour.

   Are you buildings wheel-chair accessible?The majority of our buildings are accessible. We are working diligently to upgrade our facilities to the latest accessibility standards, focusing on high interest buildings first. Where buildings aren't accessible, interpreters will step outside to engage and provide information about the building. Tour guides will also tailor the experience to the needs of the visitor.

   Will I get to see inside all the buildings?Tours are tailored to the interests of the visitors to ensure a focused interaction with key areas. Because of the size of the Village and sometimes long distances between buildings, there isn't enough time to experience all of them. Visitors are encouraged to explore the Village after their tour for any spaces they wished to visit and missed, or revisit.

   What if I arrive late for my tour?We understand sometimes a buggy can get stuck in the mud. If you think you are going to be late, please send us a message or give us a call at 1-888-743-7845 to let us know.
