2026 Sherbrooke Village Theatre Festival

hair
Sherbrooke Village is proud to launch its first-ever Theatre Festival, a new addition to our annual Rhubarb Roundup celebration.

This festival is all about bringing live performance into a living historic setting—creating space for storytelling, creativity, and community to come together. Whether you're a seasoned performer or stepping on stage for the first time, this is an opportunity to be part of something new and exciting in the region.

Our goal is simple: make theatre accessible, engaging, and rooted in community.
Participants may enter in one of the following formats:
  1. Monologues
  2. Scenes (2–4 performers)
  3. One-Act Plays
Each performance will be entered into one of two experience levels:
     Novice
Perfect for emerging performers. This category is ideal for students, or those exploring the stage in a casual or developing capacity. However, don't associate being a Novice only with being young. It's never too late to begin your acting journey!
     Advanced
Think of this as our “open” category. While anyone is welcome to enter at this level, it is best suited for those with more experience—such as performers involved in collegiate theatre programs, community theatre groups, or those who have performed professionally.

Participants are welcome to self-select their designation; however, anyone who has been compensated for theatrical performance or identifies as a professional should register their performance as advanced

Festival Day!

Performances will begin at 11am and run out of two performance spaces until complete with the festival completing no later than 4pm.

Once all selections are confirmed, a schedule will be created and shared with each participant. In addition, directions, arrival times with load in directions, and "day of" contacts will also be provided.

To Participate

  1. Determine what category is right for you! Perhaps you're working on audition material and have a monologue or a song that you'd like another space to perform in.  Maybe you have a few friends you'd like to work on a scene with, or maybe you're in the process of staging your own original piece!  Whatever the scenario, pick a category that fits and move forward.
  2. Determine what experience level is the right one. Read the description for both Novice and Advanced, choose the proper fit, and move forward!
  3. Email or Call to make your submission official.  If you know the title of your selection already, that's great! But even if you're still working that out, don't let that stop you. You won't need to specify your submission until May 1st.
