The Invention of the printing press was crucial to the spread of knowledge throughout the world. In Sherbrooke Village the thump of the printing press is a familiar sound as our printers continue to print the old-fashioned way. Here, our printers work with a hand press that dates back to the 1880's and print such things as greeting cards, recipe cards and posters.
Sherbrooke Restoration Commission acknowledges that Sherbrooke Village is in Mi'kma'ki, the ancestral, unceded, and current territory of the Mi'kmaq. This territory is covered by the "Treaties of Peace and Friendship" which Mi'kmaw and Wolastoqiyik (Maliseet) Peoples first signed with the British Crown in 1725.
